Tal y como indica Pete O’Rourke, Steven Alzate podría llegar al Espanyol. Tras finalizar contrato con el Brighton, el centrocampista colombiano se dispone a escuchar ofertas. Según O’Rourke las ofertas vendrían de la Serie A y de La Liga EA Sports, en esta última estarían interesados el Celta de Vigo, el Leganés y el Espanyol.
Por otro lado, Steven Alzate esta última temporada ha estado cedido en el Standard Lieja. En el equipo de la primera división belga ha jugado un total de 1671 minutos divididos en 20 partidos donde ha marcado dos goles y ha repartido cuatro asistencias.
